Case Study: Unni Planner – Mastering Student Productivity

Being a student is demanding. Between lectures, assignments, and exams, staying organized is a job in itself. I built Unni Planner to be the ultimate academic companion that handles the scheduling so students can focus on learning.
The Problem Many students rely on manual planners or generic calendar apps that don't understand the specific needs of university life—like recurring weekly timetables, GPA tracking, and assignment deadlines.
Key Features Built
1. Dynamic Timetable System The heart of Unni Planner is its flexible timetable. I built a custom scheduling logic that allows students to input their weekly classes with ease. It supports different types of sessions (Lectures, Labs, Seminars) and provides a clean, visual overview of the week.
2. Smart Notifications One of the most requested features was reminders. I implemented local notifications that alert students 15–30 minutes before a class or exam starts. The best part? It works completely offline.
3. GPA & Performance Tracking To help students keep their eyes on the goal, I integrated a GPA calculator. It allows users to input their grades and see their semester and cumulative performance instantly.
Technical Highlights - **State Management**: Used **Provider** to ensure data flows smoothly across the timetable, task list, and GPA sections. - **Local Persistence**: Integrated local storage to ensure that even without data/Wi-Fi, a student always knows where their next class is. - **User Experience**: Designed with a focus on "one-handed" use, making it easy to check schedules while walking to class.
