Case Study: Building Uni Connect – A Modern Campus Marketplace

Technical Architecture I chose **Flutter** for the frontend to ensure a smooth, native experience on both Android and iOS. For the backend, **Firebase** provided the perfect suite of tools: - **Firestore**: For real-time product listings and user data. - **Firebase Auth**: Secure role-based access for buyers and sellers. - **Firebase Storage**: Optimized image hosting for product photos.
Key Challenges & Solutions
2. Handling Heavy Media Marketplaces are image-heavy. To prevent the app from becoming slow, I implemented client-side image compression. Before any photo leaves the student's phone, it's optimized to ensure fast uploads and low data consumption.
What's Next? Uni Connect is just the beginning. I'm currently exploring the integration of automated payment gateways and a community-based delivery system to make campus trading even easier.
